Air Defense and Energy Restoration: Support from International Partners in January

04022026_1.jpegThe beginning of the year was challenging for Ukraine due to constant russian shelling and severe frosts. At the same time, international support for Ukraine remains unwavering and has helped us withstand these challenges.

Partners provided essential weapons to counter russian attacks, in particular:

Norway — missiles for NASAMS air defense systems

Finland — the 31st military aid package worth €98 million, which included air defense missiles

United Kingdom — missiles for air defense systems

Germany — continuous deliveries of missiles for IRIS-T air defense systems

Ukraine also received a substantial package to strengthen air defense within the PURL mechanism. We thank all partner states that contributed to this effort.

In addition, our partners provided significant energy support to enable Ukraine to restore infrastructure damaged by russian attacks as quickly as possible.

United States — more than $400 million for humanitarian projects to support Ukrainians this winter

Norway — $400 million, including funding for Ukraine’s energy sector

United Kingdom — nearly €23 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund

European Union — around 450 generators

Germany — €60 million and additional equipment

Italy — €10 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund; €50 million allocated in the 2026 budget to support Ukraine’s energy sector; 78 industrial boilers with a total capacity of 116.5 MW have already been delivered to Ukraine

Netherlands — an additional €23 million for Ukraine’s energy sector

Denmark — €20 million for energy support to Ukraine

France — more than 100 generators

Japan — 140 generators, 60 transformers, and two cogeneration units

Lithuania — 90 generators

We thank all partners for their resolute and consistent support of Ukraine. This assistance saves lives, strengthens our resilience, and enables us to withstand aggression.

We call for continued strengthening of support for Ukraine — it brings a just peace closer for all of Europe. Together we are stronger.
