Ukraine’s Defense Industry – an Industry Forged in Battle

The projected production capacity of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex for 2026 is estimated at USD 55 billion. This is a record figure, achieved as a result of systematic expansion of production capacities, innovative technologies, and large-scale integration of private and state manufacturers into a unified defense ecosystem.

Over the past year alone, defense production capacity has increased by USD 20 billion, and since the beginning of the full-scale invasion — by a factor of 55. These figures demonstrate Ukraine’s ability to respond to the realities of modern warfare.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine carries out continuous coordination and oversight of the implementation of state policy in the defense industry, ensuring interaction among government institutions, manufacturing enterprises, and international partners.

In addition, the NSDC facilitates effective planning and alignment of defense procurement priorities and real-time monitoring of the execution of production programs.

Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex has proven its resilience under extreme challenges. Ukraine has become the only country in the world that is actively developing its defense industry under constant, large-scale shelling.

The state creates opportunities for the development of the defense industry, provides financing, and simplifies sectoral regulation. As a result, Ukraine’s defense complex has become an integral component of national security and a powerful pillar of support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
