NCCS strengthens partnership between government and business: SOC DAY Ukraine 2025 held in Kyiv
With the support of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, SOC DAY Ukraine 2025 was held in the capital, becoming an important platform for strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors in the field of cybersecurity. The event brought together about 400 participants, including representatives of government agencies, businesses, cybersecurity experts, and leading international companies.
The main focus was on developing the capabilities of security operations centers (SOCs), sharing experiences, and developing joint approaches to countering modern cyber threats.
Serhiy Demedyuk, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and Deputy Head of the NCCK, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the key role of cooperation between the state and the private sector in strengthening the country's cyber resilience:
"The enemy penetrates cyberspace through the private sector—that is where it tests its capabilities, tries to cause damage, and, most importantly, uses this springboard to attack the state's critical infrastructure. Building a SOC is not a formality, but an effective tool for protecting companies and, at the same time, supporting the defense forces. Today, SOCs should bring together not only technical specialists, but also analysts who understand the entire security landscape and the human factor," emphasized Serhii Demediuk.
He also called on businesses to engage in open cooperation and exchange information about cyber incidents, noting that “trust between the state and the private sector is key to effectively countering threats.”
Serhiy Prokopenko, head of the NCCU Operations Support Department of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, delivered a presentation during the event. He presented an analytical overview of trends in the cyber threat landscape and stressed the importance of expanding the exchange of information about cyber incidents and raising awareness among participants in cyberspace:
"Every day, Ukraine faces cyberattacks coordinated with military actions and information operations. Our response is to develop a cyber data exchange system, foster a culture of response, and strengthen partnerships between the state, business, and the international community," said Serhii Prokopenko.
Throughout the day, SOC DAY 2025 participants took part in presentations, panel discussions, and practical workshops dedicated to SOC development, XDR solution integration, cyber resilience of municipal services and the financial sector, and discussed issues of effective interaction between business and the state in the field of cyber security.
