Rustem Umerov discussed Ukraine's integration into the European defense industry with the EU Commissioner
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov held a meeting in Kyiv with European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius. The European delegation included Deputy Head of the EU Delegation Gediminas Navickas and Defense Advisor to the Cabinet of the President of the European Commission Thomas Lunau.
The talks focused on Ukraine's integration into the European defense industry, the development of defense initiatives, Build with Ukraine, Drone Wall, and the expansion of cooperation in the field of new technologies.
Rustem Umerov informed his partners about the situation on the front lines and the current needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and thanked the European Union for its steadfast defense support.
The parties also discussed further sanctions pressure on Russia, the use of the aggressor's frozen assets, and mechanisms for reparations loans for the development of defense infrastructure. According to Rustem Umerov, these steps “strengthen joint defense and bring the restoration of justice closer.”
