Review of events in the field of artificial intelligence in July 2025
The July issue of AI Frontiers: Innovations, Breakthroughs, Challenges, prepared by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in conjunction with the National Institute for Strategic Studies and the Center for Analysis and Development of Effective Policies, provides an analytical overview and key news from the world of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The material covers the most important international and technological events of the month: the adoption of a new US strategy on AI, which combines deregulation of the domestic market with restrictions on technology exports to China; the resumption of Nvidia's activities in China under export controls; the further implementation of the provisions of the EU AI Act and discussions on regulatory requirements.
Special emphasis is placed on the rapid development of agent AI capable of autonomously performing complex tasks, the growing risks associated with digital companions and chatbots, and the identified security and ethical challenges of their use. The report highlights trends in changes in internet traffic dynamics under the influence of generative systems, the integration of cyber security into AI infrastructure, and increased international competition in the field of data centers and supercomputing resources. The issue concludes with an analysis of global initiatives to establish uniform standards for AI ethics and security, as well as the efforts of international organizations to develop coordinated approaches to its regulation.
