The first national cybersecurity championship of Ukraine in the CTF format started with the assistance of the NCCC

20250729.jpegOn July 26-27, 2025, the first official regional competitions in the CTF (Capture the Flag) format were held in Vinnytsia, Rivne and Mykolaiv regions as part of the Ukrainian Cybersecurity Championship. The competition is part of the NCCC's initiative aimed at developing cyber education, identifying young talents and strengthening the state's cybersecurity capabilities in the regions.

The National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine co-organized the competition, providing national coordination and strategic support for the initiative.

The competition was held on the basis of the Ukrainian cyber range Unit Range, which provided a full-fledged simulated environment for solving real-world problems in the main areas: Web, Crypto, Reverse Engineering, PWN, OSINT and Forensics.

The regional stages were attended by teams from leading educational institutions, youth communities, and representatives of technical youth who demonstrated a high level of training, teamwork, and interest in professional growth in the field of cybersecurity.

The winners of the regional stages are:

Vinnytsia region
1st place - Samurai
2nd place - Cyber support
3rd place - RCE Ninjas

Rivne region
1st place - 0xRive
2nd place - NUWM
3rd place - 404TEAM

Mykolaiv region
1st place - BARRACUDA
2nd place - Ghost in the shellcode
3rd place - 0xMK UA

These teams have advanced to the final stage of the Ukrainian Cybersecurity Championship, where they will compete with the strongest teams from other regions.

The regional CTF competitions were the first stage of a large-scale national project aimed at forming a new generation of cybersecurity professionals and building sustainable cyber resilience.

The final stage of the Ukrainian Cybersecurity Championship is scheduled for the fall of 2025.
