Artificial Intelligence Overview for May 2025

In May 2025, the field of artificial intelligence (AI) demonstrated further acceleration of transformational changes in the global economy, politics, security, and technological innovation. At the same time, there is a growing need for a strategic understanding of these processes.

Among the key trends of the month are the escalation of the technological confrontation between the United States and China, massive introduction of AI agents in business, large-scale public investments in AI infrastructure (from Horizon Europe to Stargate UAE), and the rapid spread of multimodal services based on generative AI.

Special attention is paid to security challenges, legal regulation, and the impact of AI on the labor market. Analysts warn that the impact of new models will be systemic - from defense policy to energy consumption, from changes in the forms of public administration to the risks of disinformation.
