Ukraine's cybersecurity starts with young people: results of the Job Fair
On Thursday, June 5, Kyiv hosted the final CyberDive event, the Cybersecurity Job Fair, aimed at supporting young professionals in developing their careers in cybersecurity. The event brought together more than 200 students from all over Ukraine and more than 15 critical infrastructure operators and private companies.
Among the guests and speakers of the event were representatives of the National Coordination Center at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, including Volodymyr Zverev, Deputy Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service, Head of the Information Security Department of the NSDC of Ukraine. He delivered a lecture titled “Hybrid Warfare and the Cyber Front: What Skills Ukraine Needs Now”.
“Today, cybersecurity is one of the key priorities of Ukraine's national security. Future specialists must not only have high professional skills but also be ready to respond promptly to cyber threats in hybrid warfare,” said Volodymyr Zverev.
The program of the event included lectures, panel discussions, and master classes from industry leaders. Participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the requirements of the labor market, learn about internship and employment opportunities, receive recommendations on how to create an effective cyber portfolio, and communicate directly with potential employers. The event ended with successful networking.
CyberDive is a cybersecurity job fair organized by the largest IT competition in Europe DEV Challenge and the USAID Project “Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure” with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Coordination Center at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and the first innovation park UNIT.City.
