Ukraine and Finland strengthen cooperation in cybersecurity
On Thursday, June 5, representatives of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine met with an official delegation of The National Emergency Supply Agency, which is responsible for cybersecurity and resilience of the critical infrastructure of the Republic of Finland (NESA). The Finnish delegation also included representatives of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, the Finnish Armed Forces and leading Finnish telecommunications companies. The visit was organized with the assistance of Miltton's Ukrainian office.
During the talks, the parties discussed topical issues of strengthening cyber resilience in the context of the Russian Federation's armed aggression against Ukraine, in particular by strengthening international cooperation.
“Finland has always been and remains one of Ukraine's reliable partners. Many Ukrainian companies already have successful examples of cooperation with their Finnish counterparts. At the same time, the security environment is changing dynamically, as is the nature of cyber threats. That is why we must continue to develop partnerships to effectively counter challenges in cyberspace,” said Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhiy Demediuk.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of public-private partnerships and the prospects for implementing joint projects aimed at strengthening cybersecurity and protecting critical infrastructure.
The Finnish side expressed its gratitude for the invitation to participate in the Kyiv International Cybersecurity Forum “Defending Democracy”, held on March 11-12, 2025. The delegation noted the high level of organization of the event, in particular the closed workshop “Resilience of Data Centers and Networks during War”, which took place within the framework of the Forum. As part of the visit, an excursion to the Parkovyi Data Center was organized.
The guests got acquainted with the technical capabilities of the facility and learned about the peculiarities of its operation under martial law.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing cooperation and agreed to continue working together on initiatives aimed at increasing the resilience of critical infrastructure to modern cyber threats.
Representatives of the NCCC also announced the launch of a series of closed workshops on strengthening cyber resilience in wartime and invited Finnish partners to participate in future events.
