NSDC Secretary met with a delegation of Swedish experts
On Thursday, May 8, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with a delegation of Swedish experts on geopolitics, security and international relations from the Stockholm Centre for East European Studies (SCEEUS), a leading think tank under the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by the Center's Director Fredrik Löydqvist.
The parties discussed the prospects of Ukraine's movement towards the EU and NATO, as well as Ukraine's integration into the European security system.
Special attention was paid to the issue of defense capability of our country.
Oleksandr Lytvynenko thanked the allied countries and emphasized that Ukraine needs further consistent support from its partners and more weapons, missiles for air defense systems, plus reliable security guarantees. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine emphasized that it is a strong and secure Ukraine that can guarantee security in Europe and lay the foundation for a just peace.
On behalf of the delegation, Director of the Stockholm Centre for East European Studies Fredrik Löydqvist expressed support for Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor and noted that they share Ukraine's aspirations for a comprehensive, just and
sustainable peace that will ensure Ukraine's sovereignty and respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
During the conversation, the parties identified priorities for deepening relations and cooperation.
