Defence cooperation is in focus: NSDC Secretary meets with Chairman of the Finnish Parliament Defence Committee
On Wednesday, 2 October, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with the Finnish delegation headed by the Chairman of the Defence Committee of the Finnish Parliament Jukka Kopra. The meeting focused on defence cooperation.
The parties discussed threats to Ukraine's national security, paid attention to joint production projects, and outlined prospects for countering information security challenges.
Oleksandr Lytvynenko thanked the Finnish government for the powerful military assistance and support that Finland has been providing to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia, and noted that Ukraine needs more air defence systems and ammunition. He also said that Ukraine needs permission to use long-range weapons to retaliate against russian targets.
For his part, the Chairman of the Finnish Parliament's Defence Committee, Jukka Kopra, assured of long-term support to Ukraine.
The parties paid special attention to strengthening national resilience and discussed the need to effectively counter Russian disinformation and propaganda.
