Strengthening security and defence cooperation: The NSDC Secretary met with the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine

On Tuesday, 21 May, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with the Japanese delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori to discuss the interaction between the two countries in the context of strengthening cooperation in the security and defence spheres. The parties also exchanged views on preparations for the Global Peace Summit.

Oleksandr Lytvynenko informed Matsuda Kuninori about the state of the Ukrainian energy system and the current military and political situation in Ukraine.

For his part, the Ambassador of Japan stressed that his country's consistent policy of supporting Ukraine and the Ukrainian people remains unchanged.

During the dialogue, the parties noted the importance of continuing the positive dynamics of bilateral contacts and agreed on further steps on this track.
