Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with a delegation of the British Parliament
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with a delegation of the British Parliament. The delegation included Robert Seely, Conservative Party, Jack Lopresti, Conservative Party, and former member of the House of Lords, Lord Michael Ashcroft.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current security situation in the world and the region, discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen the UK's support for Ukraine on its path to victory over the russian aggressor.
Oleksiy Danilov thanked the delegation for visiting our country "in such difficult times" and for the UK's comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in its struggle. "Since the first days of the war, the UK has been one of our key partners, we have been in constant communication," he said, "This is what true friends do, and I am sincerely grateful to you for everything you do.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine once again emphasized that "we have to draw conclusions and after the victory to carry out a radical transformation of the country." According to him, "the world is already new and will continue to change," and russia's aggressive war concerns not only Ukraine and russia, as "autocratic regimes are taking lessons from this war."
According to Mr. Danilov, russia's blockade of Ukrainian grain transportation through the Black Sea is "not only about using food as a weapon, it is also an attempt to change international navigation rules by force and make the world move according to other rules." The civilized world, he said, should respond appropriately.
During the meeting, the parties also paid special attention to bilateral cooperation in the defense industry, strengthening sanctions pressure on russia and control over sanctions to prevent their circumvention by the terrorist state.
In his turn, Robert Seely noted that he is the head of the All-Party Parliamentary Group in support of Ukraine in the British Parliament, which is a "privilege" for him. Mr. Seeley assured of the UK's unwavering support for Ukraine and its readiness to continue to provide our country with the necessary military, economic and other assistance.
