Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador of Australia to Ukraine Bruce Kevin Jeffrey Edwards

Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Ukraine Bruce Kevin Jeffrey Edwards.

At the beginning of the meeting, Oleksiy Danilov expressed his gratitude to Australia for providing comprehensive assistance in the fight against the russian aggressor, noting that "Ukraine will definitely win the war thanks to such friends".

The parties discussed the current security situation in the world and the region.

Oleksiy Danilov stressed the importance of the outcome of the NATO Summit held on 11-12 July in the Lithuanian capital and expressed hope that Australia would join the G7 declaration on long-term support for Ukraine's security.

In his turn, the Ambassador said that the world is "impressed by the resilience and courage of Ukrainians". "Australia will do everything to support Ukraine on its path to victory," he assured. Mr. Bruce Kevin Geoffrey Edwards also praised Ukraine's efforts to counter russian propaganda in the world.

The parties stressed, among other things, the importance of continuing the Black Sea Grain Initiative to prevent a global food crisis and the need for strict adherence to the international law of the sea.
