The NSDC Staff and the Association of Titanium Industry of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the development of the titanium industry in Ukraine
On Tuesday, 15 August 2023, the Staff of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and the Association of the Titanium Industry of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to create favourable conditions for the development of the titanium industry, efficient use of natural resources, economic potential and increase the level of the state's defence capability.
The document was signed by Head of the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Ziuz, and Andriy Brodsky, President of the Association.
The parties will, among other things, analyse opportunities to strengthen the position of the Ukrainian titanium industry in global markets and use its potential for the needs of the defence industry of Ukraine; participate in the development of regulations on the development of the industry, planning and implementation of measures aimed at creating favourable conditions for the intensification of its development, etc.
"The titanium industry is of strategic importance for the sustainable development of the economy and the state's defence capability," said Andriy Ziuz, adding that coordination and combination of resources and efforts of the Council's Secretariat and the Association will help achieve this goal.
The goals and priorities for the development of Ukraine's titanium industry as a strategic sector of the economy are set by the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine of 16 July 2021 "On Stimulating the Search, Extraction and Enrichment of Mineral Resources of Strategic Importance for the Sustainable Development of the Economy and the State's Defence Capability", enacted by Presidential Decree No. 306 of 23 July 2021.
