Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas during his visit to Ukraine.

The parties discussed the current security situation in the world and the region and Lithuania's increased support for Ukraine on its path to victory in the aggressive war unleashed by russia.

Oleksiy Danilov expressed gratitude to the Lithuanian side for its comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in its fight against the russian aggressor. "You are our true friends, you understand the depth and complexity of the processes, and we are sincerely grateful to you," he said.

Speaking about the recent events in russia, the NSDC Secretary noted that the so-called "prygozhyn uprising" is "only the first tremor before the earthquake". "The process of fragmentation cannot be stopped, and it may become even more uncontrollable," he said.

"russia is no longer a country, but a dangerous territory, with gangs that shoot down planes, kill officers, and the security council is not even going to meet on this issue," said Danilov, adding that the democratic civilized world still lacks an understanding of "what to do with the last colonial country in the world."

The parties paid special attention to preparations for the upcoming NATO Summit in Vilnius.

Mr. Anušauskas informed the Ukrainian side about Lithuania's new 3-year plan to support the Ukrainian army, which includes efforts to ensure continuous military support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian soldiers and further reform and development of the Armed Forces in the future.

According to the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania, Ukraine is "the basis of stability in Europe," so the Lithuanian side will do everything possible to promote Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations and will fully support our country.
