The NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of the agenda of Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation and exchanged views on the security situation in Ukraine and the world.

The NSDC Secretary expressed his sincere gratitude to the Japanese side for the comprehensive assistance to our country. "You are making great efforts to ensure that we win this war, and we are very grateful to the Japanese government and people for this," he said. In this context, Oleksiy Danilov noted the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to Kyiv last month and the Japanese side's support for Ukraine, which is "important on the eve of the May summit of G7 leaders in Hiroshima."

Mr. Danilov expressed his belief in the need to develop cooperation between Ukraine and Japan in a number of areas and Japan's participation in the process of post-war transformation of our country, for the success of which "synergy with our partners is extremely important."

Mr. Matsuda, in his turn, noted that Ukraine and Japan are "unique countries" that have many prospects for building strategic cooperation. Mr. Matsuda assured of the unwavering position of the Japanese side in supporting Ukraine in its fight against the russian aggressor and its readiness to develop practical cooperation with Ukraine.
