Oleksiy Danilov presented in the parliament a draft law on the extension of martial law for 90 days from August, 23
On Monday, August 15, 2022, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov presented in the parliament a draft law on the extension of martial law for 90 days from August, 23, this year.
The draft Law of Ukraine "On the Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On Extending the Term of Martial Law in Ukraine" was developed in accordance with Clause 20 of Part One of Article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Regime of Martial Law" in order to ensure the extension of the term of martial law in Ukraine due to the ongoing armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
The draft Law envisages approving the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 12, 2022, № 573 "On Extending the Term of Martial Law in Ukraine", which partially amends Article 1 of the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 24, 2022, № 64/2022 "On the Introduction of Martial Law in Ukraine", approved by the Law of Ukraine dated February 24, 2022, № 2102-IX; the period of martial law in Ukraine is extended from 05:30 on August 23 of this year for a period of 90 days.
The relevant Decree of the President of Ukraine was developed on the basis of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
People's deputies of Ukraine approved the Decree of the Head of State.
