Under the auspices of the NCSCC, a round table meeting was held on the topic: "Creation of controlled automatic systems and systems with elements of artificial intelligence for the needs of state defense"

On July 28, 2022, under the auspices of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the NSDC of Ukraine, a round table meeting was held on the topic: "Creation of controlled automatic systems and systems with elements of artificial intelligence for the needs of state defense." The event was organized by the Institute of Problems of Artificial Intelligence of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with the participation of leading scientists in the field of artificial intelligence, scientific institutions of the defense and educational and scientific sectors.

Opening the event, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Serhiy Demedyuk, emphasized the importance and urgency of joining efforts to create high-tech means of waging war and neutralizing its consequences in the current conditions of repelling russian aggression against Ukraine. In this context, the introduction of elements of artificial intelligence into the defense potential will contribute to the formation of the advantages of our state in front of the enemy.

Reports on the Institute's developments were offered for discussion, including "Intelligent defense point", "Autonomous on-board UAV navigation system", "Automatic subsystems: control systems for a swarm of unmanned underwater, air and space vehicles for the performance of strategic, operational and tactical tasks" and others

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleg Hayduk expressed interest in the Institute's developments. During the discussion, the proposals of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine regarding cooperation with the Institute in the application of artificial intelligence methods for the creation of autonomous on-board navigation of unmanned aerial vehicles and the identification of unexploded ordnance were expressed.

Director of the Institute Anatoliy Shevchenko presented the project of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Ukraine, which was supported by the participants of the event.
