Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held an interagency meeting on reforming the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine.
The NSDC Secretary stressed that reforming the defense-industrial complex is currently a priority task set by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The participants of the meeting - representatives of ministries and agencies, heads of defense industry enterprises discussed a wide range of issues related to the functioning of the industry, ways to reform it, and existing problems. In particular, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Urusky participated in the meeting.
Mr. Danilov noted that Ukraine cannot stay away from the processes taking place in the world and should adequately respond to the challenges. According to him, the reform of the defense industry should take into account the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, current global trends in the development of armaments and equipment, as well as international cooperation.
"Defense-industrial enterprises must provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with high-quality products. This is our main task", - the NSDC Secretary said.
He also drew attention to the need to analyze trends in the world arms market and opportunities for sales of Ukrainian defense products abroad.
Among the important areas of reforming the defense-industrial complex, Mr. Danilov called the development of public-private partnerships and training of highly qualified modern personnel.
