Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a conference call with the regions on the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
The NSDC Secretary noted that the decision to hold conference calls with the heads of regional state administrations was made due to a significant increase in coronavirus incidence in Ukraine and aims to exchange information on the situation in the regions to coordinate relevant government efforts.
Mr. Danilov noticed the projected increase in the number of new cases of infection due to mass non-compliance with preventive safety measures.
Among the priority measures, the NSDC Secretary reiterated the need for an active awareness campaign on the need to prevent COVID-19.
The NSDC Secretary drew the attention of the heads of regional state administrations to the need of exploring the possibility of providing additional places for coronavirus patients in the regions where the number of infected is highest.
The NSDC Secretary also stressed that the election process and voting in the local elections on October 25 this year should be held taking into account all the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.
Such conference calls chaired by the Prime Minister of Ukraine with the participation of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will be held regularly three times a week.
