Oleksiy Danilov: The NSDC of Ukraine has developed five scenarios for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has developed five scenarios for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov stated this while opening a panel discussion "Ceasefire and Disengagement of Troops in Donbas" within the framework of the National Platform "Dialogue on Peace and Safe Reintegration" on Thursday in Kyiv.
According to Mr. Danilov, the NSDC had thoroughly examined the situation in the temporarily occupied territories and developed five scenarios for their reintegration. "The work has been ongoing from day one, and we have carefully studied the situation not only within our country but also outside", - he noticed adding that "all the developed scenarios are to Ukraine's benefit".
In this context, the key aspect of resolving the situation in Donbas, according to the NSDC Secretary, is the resolution of the humanitarian issue. "Our top priority is to establish humanitarian corridors for Ukrainian citizens living in the temporarily occupied territories. Our citizens have the right to cross the contact line freely", - he underscored.
During his speech, the NSDC Secretary stressed that among the key issues to be resolved during the Normandy Summit, in particular, are the following: the return of our prisoners of war; ceasefire across the entire frontline; settling the situation regarding Ukraine's control over the border with the Russian Federation; holding elections in the temporarily occupied territories solely under Ukrainian law.
In this regard, Mr. Danilov emphasized that during the meeting on December 9, the President of Ukraine would not allow any surrender steps. "President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not take any steps that could harm national interests of our state or could be regarded as capitulation", - he stated.
