Five years ago, on July 5, 2014, the Ukrainian cities of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk were liberated by the anti-terrorist operation fighters. Both cities had been under occupation for almost three months.
"It has been five years since the cities of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk were liberated from the Russian-occupant troops. On this day in 2014, peace and tranquility came to these Ukrainian cities", - Deputy Secretary of the NSDC, general Serhiy Kryvonos during the celebration on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the liberation of these cities.
According to him, the cities of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk were a kind of bridgehead: "For collaborators and Russians it was a bridgehead for the attack on Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia. For us, it was a bridgehead for the liberation of our territories".
Serhiy Kryvonos also noted the importance of creating a museum of defense of Kramatorsk, in the opening of which he participated.
"Future generations will know and remember the Heroes who defended the city of Kramatorsk. The opening of the museum of defense of the city brought us back in 2014, making us recapturing the past.
I am grateful to everyone who collected information and created the exhibit", - Mr. Kryvonos said during the opening of the museum.
