Large-scale exercises of the Air Assault Forces took place in the Zhytomyr region

On the Day of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, large-scale military exercises of paratroopers took place on the basis of the training center of the Air Assault Forces in the Zhytomyr region.

During the exercises, the military servicemen of the air assault units demonstrated high skill and professionalism, worked out a range of combat missions, in particular, air strikes, landing of personnel and military equipment, overcoming water obstacles with armored vehicles, raiding actions, etc.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko attended the exercises.

Upon completion of the exercises, the President of Ukraine awarded state awards to the Ukrainian paratroopers for personal courage and selfless actions in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, exemplary execution of military duty. The President of Ukraine, the NSDC Secretary and the Chief of the General Staff handled the paratrooper's berets to the young warriors, which was followed by a solemn ceremony of taking the paratrooper's oath.
