First Deputy to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy paid a visit to India where he held meetings with the leadership of defense institutions of the country

Oleg Hladkovskiy held meetings with the leadership of defense institutions of India, particularly with Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army Bipin Rawat and Deputy Chief of Staff of Indian Air Force Raghunath Nambiar.

The parties discussed the issues of expanding bilateral cooperation, the participation of Ukrainian enterprises in the programs of modernization and supply of new military equipment for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of India under the "Make in India" program.

"Ukraine and India already have long and sufficient experience of close contacts in the defense industry. Nevertheless, I am confident that both countries have every opportunity to increase the number of areas of cooperation in the defense-industrial complex. And this refers not only to procurement and supply. It is about launching joint projects that are promising for both parties", - Mr. Hladkovskiy noticed.

Moreover, Mr. Hladkovskiy met with the Chief of Defense Research and Development Organization Dr. Selvin Christopher; during the meeting, the parties agreed to establish cooperation in creating precision-guided munitions.

Oleg Hladkovskiy took part in the 10th International Exhibition Defexpo India 2018.

As part of the exhibition, memoranda of cooperation and further intentions to make contracts with five Indian companies were signed. The majority of agreements cover the transfer of defense technology under the "Make in India" program, as well as to joint participation in the modernization of armored vehicles and air defense systems on India's armament.
