Oleksandr Turchynov: I hope that the latest samples of weapons and military equipment will soon be used at the front

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov expressed his hope that the latest samples of weapons and military equipment will soon be used at the front.

In his interview with journalists after the opening of the XIV International Specialized Exhibition "Arms and Security-2017," Mr. Turchynov noted that many types of weapons and equipment presented at the exhibition are already used in the ATO. "But there are interesting developments, which are very important and which are awaited in the area of military operation", - he said adding that this primarily refers to the means of combating UAVs, presented at the exhibition.

Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine informed that in the nearest time, field tests of such weapons and equipment would be held - first at proving grounds, and then they will be in use at the front.

"It is a matter of principle for us to reduce the time from the development of weapons and military equipment to their use in combat conditions. We set the task of "tightening" this term as every single sample of modern weapons, advanced military equipment can save the lives of soldiers and officers on the battlefield, and the life of every our servicemen is invaluable", - he emphasized.

Oleksandr Turchynov noticed that holding of such international exhibition events is important for Ukraine: "Such events stimulate the development of domestic defense industry and promote the unification of enterprises from different countries to solve specific defense and security tasks".
