Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Young-Gu Lee

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Young-Gu Lee.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of deepening bilateral cooperation in the military-technical and aerospace spheres.

According to Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine, our countries have much in common - "both Ukraine and the Republic of Korea were forced to ensure the social-economic and democratic development of their countries in the conditions of military confrontation".

The parties also considered the question of holding a meeting of the joint commission on military-technical cooperation, which, according to Mr. Turchynov, could significantly accelerate the implementation of joint projects. "There is a wide range of areas in which we could raise our cooperation to a fundamentally new level", - Secretary of the NSDC stressed.

In his turn, Young-Gu Lee emphasized on the interest of the government of the Republic of Korea in deepening cooperation with Ukraine.

Moreover, he stressed that the Republic of Korea supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. "We understand you like nobody else. After all, South Korea has suffered crushing wars, external pressure, and powerful economic crises, but without all this, our country would never become so strong and advanced as it is now. Any crisis provides an opportunity for further development", - he said adding that bilateral cooperation could give "extremely significant and positive results".
