Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova Gheorghe Balan.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the issues of deepening cooperation between the countries in the security and defense sphere.
The parties discussed separately the issue of Russia's hybrid aggression against Ukraine and Moldova.
"Hybrid aggression of the Russian Federation against a sovereign country began from Moldova in 1992", - Mr. Turchynov noted underlining that Russia's non-compliance with international obligations to withdraw its troops from Transnistria is one of the factors destabilizing the security situation in Europe.
The interlocutors also considered a set of measures and coordination of actions on security issues in order to stabilize the situation in the region.
Mr. Balan stressed that Ukraine provides Moldova "a good example of countering aggression, in particular, fighting Russian propaganda". "We adopted a bill to restrict the broadcasting of information programs from countries that have not signed the European Convention on Transfrontier Television", - he explained.
