Oleksandr Turchynov: Russia will remain impudent so long as it is allowed to do so
The Russian Federation will remain impudent so long as it is allowed to do so. This was the answer NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov gave to Polish journalists during his visit to Poland, where he had meetings with President of Poland Andrzej Duda, head of the National Security Bureau of Poland Pavel Solokh, Marshal of the Polish Sejm, Marshal of the Senate, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland, Minister of National Defense of Poland and other leaders of force structures of Poland.
"The Russian Federation carries out constant provocations, but it will remain impudent so long as it is allowed to do so", - Oleksandr Turchynov noted, answering the question of Polish journalists about the incident, which occurred on April 12 this year, when the Russian bombers Su-24 flew over the USS Destroyer Donald Cook in the Baltic sea, at the level, lower than the command bridge of the ship, in particular, when the Polish helicopter was going to get off the destroyer's deck.
Oleksandr Turchynov expressed a conviction that Russian plane was not just simply flying over the military ships - it was demonstrating "the readiness to attack them". "Put yourself in the shoes of the military, who were on those ships. It is very difficult to figure out whether it was a training-demonstrative attack or a real combat one", - he said.
"Indeed, Russia conducts itself very impudent and carries out constant provocations. And it will remain impudent so long as it is allowed to do so", - NSDC Secretary stated, stressing that, among other things, Russian military aircrafts do not violate Turkish air borders anymore.
