Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov had a meeting with the Commander of the Gendarmerie troops of the Republic of Turkey Galip Mendi

During the working visit to the Republic of Turkey, Secretary of NSDC of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov had a meeting with the Commander of the Gendarmerie troops of the Republic of Turkey Galip Mendi involving the Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine general lieutenant Yuriy Alerov.

In the course of the negotiations, the parties emphasized that the security situation in Ukraine and Turkey have many common features and problems. That is why, in Oleksandr Turchynov's and G.Mendi's opinion, the exchange of experience in the questions of countering terrorism, subversive activities and sabotage, destabilization attempts of radical and terrorist organizations is important.

The interlocutors discussed the possibility of conducting joint trainings involving military units of special purpose of the Gendarmerie of Turkey and of the National Guard of Ukraine.

According to Oleksandr Turchinov, for the efficient functioning of the law enforcement agencies not only the information exchange but also the development and implementation of joint countermeasures to hybrid threats to national security, to international terrorism and sabotage are vitally important.

NSDC Secretary also visited the anti-terrorist centers of the National Police and the Gendarmerie of Turkey.
