NSDC Secretary meets with newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Ukraine

On Thursday, 29 August, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine Carlo Formosa.

Oleksandr Lytvynenko briefed his interlocutor on the current security situation in the country and expressed the gratitude to Italy for its continued support of the Ukrainian people in the fight against the russian aggressor.

In the course of the dialogue, the parties discussed the necessity to support the Ukrainian energy sector which suffered from enemy strikes, as well as the necessity to strengthen Ukraine's air defence systems to protect citizens and critical infrastructure.

Both parties expressed their hope for continued bilateral cooperation.
