This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine on Thursday, 22 August, during a meeting on the development of distributed generation with the participation of representatives of partner states and international donor organisations.

Oleksandr Lytvynenko expressed his gratitude to the participants for their assistance to Narada energetyka 22082024 1.jpgthe Ukrainian energy sector and outlined the priority areas of further support needed to develop distributed generation in the context of preparations for the 2024/2025 autumn-winter heating period.

The speech focused on the fact that due to massive hostile attacks in all regions, repairs of traditional generation are underway, but it is already clear that these resources need to be maximised, especially in winter. That is why we need to work together to develop the most effective and constructive solutions to ensure that we get through the upcoming heating season with confidence.

This will ensure acceptable living conditions for the population and the operation of critical infrastructure during the war", - emphasised Oleksandr Lytvynenko.

Rostyslav Shurma, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, focused on the active development of distributed generation in Ukraine, noting that it is one of the priority areas of development of our country.

For her part, the Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, underlined that the entire European community should now focus on strengthening air defence to protect Ukraine's critical infrastructure and on humanitarian aid in the form of energy equipment.

Narada energetyka 22082024 3.jpgActing USAID Mission Director and First Secretary of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Theodora Dell stressed the importance of not only preparing for the coming winter, but also for the upcoming autumn and winter periods.

During the discussion, the representatives of the partner countries and international donor organisations agreed that assistance to Ukraine in the development of distributed generation equipment is one of the priorities of the partnership, and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation within the framework of multilateral dialogue.
