Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff's meeting in Kharkiv: The situation is under control, the occupiers suffer significant losses

On Thursday, 16 May, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff's meeting in Kharkiv. A number of issues were discussed, including the current situation at the front, the main risks, and key needs.

The meeting included a detailed report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, and the commanders of the Khortytsia military unit Yurii Sodol and the Kharkiv military unit Mykhailo Drapatyi.

‘The operational situation, tasks and needs of each brigade and each unit involved, in particular in Kharkiv region, in the areas of Vovchansk and Liptsy’, - said the President of Ukraine.

They also analysed in detail the prospects of the combat situation, threats in the coming days and weeks and our capabilities to counter russian offensive plans.

"As of today, the situation in the Kharkiv region is generally under control, our soldiers are inflicting significant losses on the occupier. But the axis remains extremely difficult - we are strengthening our units", - explained Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President of Ukraine noted that the heads of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service had reported on the intentions of the occupier, and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine had reported on counter-sabotage measures. As a result, a plan of further actions has been determined for the regional authorities of Kharkiv region and all structures responsible for security in the region.

"I heard reports from the heads of regional authorities from other border and frontline regions: the current situation, the main risks, key needs. I ordered the relevant instructions", - summed up Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
