Oleksandr Lytvynenko: It is important to improve the level of organisation of engineering protection of critical infrastructure facilities
On Thursday, 18 April, the NSDC Office held a meeting chaired by Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko on the state of protection of critical infrastructure facilities in the fuel and energy sector.
The meeting was attended by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, Minister of Energy, and heads of leading energy and oil and gas companies.
Oleksandr Lytvynenko drew attention to the task set by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to take urgent measures to significantly improve the protection of critical infrastructure.
"The enemy will pursue energy terror. That is why it is important to improve the level of engineering protection of critical infrastructure facilities to the maximum extent possible to minimise the negative effects of shelling", - said Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
The meeting analysed in detail the possible threats and hazards that pose the greatest risks to the critical infrastructure, and discussed the planned measures to improve the level of protection of such facilities. Among them is the construction of a critical infrastructure protection system in line with the best international practices.
