Strengthening the human resources potential of the regions: Representatives of the NCCC and the Romanian Directorate for Cybersecurity gave lectures to students of the Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University
As part of a working visit to Chernivtsi, representatives of the National Coordination Centre for Cybersecurity under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and the National Directorate for Cybersecurity of Romania held an event for students of Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
Opening the event, Nataliia Tkachuk, Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Secretary of the NCCC, stressed the importance of developing human resources in cybersecurity, especially in the face of growing cyber threats.
“Strengthening human resources in cybersecurity is one of the priorities of the Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine. The competition for talents is ongoing everywhere, and the situation in cybersecurity is further complicated by the fact that the level of cyber threats both in Ukraine and in the world as a whole is only growing every year. The public and private sectors, as well as critical infrastructure facilities, need highly qualified specialists. Therefore, it is extremely important that students acquire the necessary and relevant knowledge and skills for their future work during their studies,” – said the Head of the Service.
During the event, the NCCC experts told the students about the importance of cybersecurity professions and shared their experience and knowledge in international cooperation and countering hacker groups.
“Given the active digitalisation and rapid development of technology, cybersecurity professionals must have a good grasp of the latest trends and always keep up. I am grateful to the representatives of the National Coordination Centre for Cybersecurity at the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and the National Directorate of Cybersecurity of Romania for sharing the latest knowledge with our students,” – said Andrii Samila, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
Besides, the guests from Romania presented students with important material on the rules of cyber hygiene and presented a guide to the safe use of social media, which will be a useful tool for the younger generation in the modern world.
