Ukrainian delegation learnt best practices in protecting critical infrastructure related to the chemical sector
In Lecce, Italy, a workshop on “Development of University Programmes on Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience” was held for the Ukrainian delegation with the support of the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation and the U.S. Department of State under the project “Protecting Ukraine’s Critical Chemical Infrastructure from Ongoing russian Aggression”.
During the workshop, the members of the delegation got acquainted with the best practices of protecting chemical sector-related critical infrastructure, vulnerability assessments of chemical facilities, as well as educational programmes on critical infrastructure security and resilience to develop a national system of training in critical infrastructure protection in Ukraine.
The event also featured a presentation “Feasibility Study on the Implementation of a Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Education and Training System in Ukraine” by experts from Ukraine, Europe and the United States.
The event was attended by representatives of state authorities and educational institutions of Ukraine. The National Security and Defence Council was represented by Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksii Soloviov, and employees of the Critical Infrastructure Security Service Iryna Tymoshenko and Yaroslav Suskyi.
