KICRF_1x1.pngOn 7-8 February, the capital holds the 2024 Kyiv Cybersecurity Forum. The theme of this year’s forum will be Resilience in a Cyber War.

This is the largest cybersecurity event in Ukraine in recent years, bringing together representatives of the state, technology companies, leading subject-matter experts and the cyber community under the same roof.

The purpose of the Forum is to rethink Ukraine’s experience of cyber warfare and use it in the development of strategies of the democratic world to increase cyber resilience through the use of cutting-edge technologies, tools of diplomacy, international law and active cyber defence.

The agenda of the Forum will cover the following lines:

Special attention will be paid to methods of strengthening cyber resilience: from using innovations in military technology and protecting critical infrastructure to developing public-private partnerships and countering disinformation using OSINT technologies.

The Kyiv International Cybersecurity Forum was launched by the National Coordination Centre for Cybersecurity (NCCC) under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF Global). This year’s event will be supported by the U.S. Department of State.

The organisers plan to hold the event annually creating the basis for the development of a powerful platform – a platform for sharing best practices, defining common strategies and coordinating actions to combat cyber threats, strengthening international cooperation and joining efforts to increase global resilience in cyberspace.

The Forum’s two-day programme is intensively focused on speeches and panel discussions featuring top international experts, Ukrainian government officials, cyber diplomats, experts, representatives of technology companies and Ukrainian businesses that face numerous challenges on a daily basis.

Among the keynote speakers:

Oleksii Danilov (Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine), Mykhailo Fedorov (Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine), Rustem Umerov (Minister of Defence of Ukraine), Dmytro Kuleba (Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine), Nathaniel Fick (Ambassador-at-Large, Bureau of Cyber and Digital Policy, the U.S. Department of State), Mart Noorma (Head of NATO Joint Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence), Jen Easterly (Director of the U.S. Critical Infrastructure Security Agency CISA), Johan Lepasar (Director of the EU Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA)).

The Forum is organised by the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Cyber Unit Technologies and the Institute for Cyber Warfare Research (ICWR) are the technology partners.

The event will also include a two-day cybersecurity competition (CTF) for public and private sector professionals. The event is aimed at improving the qualification level of cybersecurity specialists and developing professional skills in the course of performing tasks as close as possible to real-life cases. Additionally, workshops and trainings will be held for all participants.
