The NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Martin Jaeger
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Martin Jaeger.
The parties discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation and directions for its further deepening, as well as exchanged views on the security situation in the global and regional dimensions.
Oleksiy Danilov congratulated Martin Jaeger on his appointment and expressed gratitude for Germany's comprehensive support of Ukraine on its path to victory over the terrorist state of russia. According to the NSDC Secretary, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia, the position of the German side has changed qualitatively, and today Germany "cooperates with our country to the maximum extent possible," in particular, in providing weapons and military equipment.
According to Mr. Danilov, Germany's involvement in Ukraine's post-war transformation is extremely relevant. "It would be appropriate and timely to choose economic sectors and start a lot of work right now," he said, emphasizing, in particular, cooperation in the energy, digitalization and military-industrial complex.
Oleksiy Danilov also noted the need to preserve the unity of Europe and the importance of the civilized world formulating a vision "how to make what is now called russia a territory that will not encroach on other countries."
In his turn, Martin Jaeger emphasized that his key tasks in office are "to help Ukraine win" and to develop the German-Ukrainian strategic partnership. "Ukraine is already a partner that influences the development of the EU," said Mr. Ambassador.
Martin Jaeger expressed his readiness to contribute to the deepening of bilateral economic cooperation and assured of Germany's readiness to continue to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in its struggle.
