Oleksiy Danilov: We are at a strategic turning point, and it is being decided on the territory of our country what the world will look like
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov took part in a meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps on the implementation of the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The event took place at the Antonov International Airport in the town of Gostomel.
In his speech, Oleksiy Danilov noted that for the first time since the Second World War, a full-scale war broke out in Europe, which "was started after russia curtailed all democratic processes and embarked on the path of authoritarianism." "It was happening before our eyes, but we turned a blind eye and thought it was none of our business," he said. - "If someone thinks that this is a war between russia and Ukraine, this is a deep mistake.
According to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine, the world periodically passes through certain "strategic turning points," and today "we are at such a point." "Depending on how this turning point occurs, the modern world will develop in the next 20-30-40 years," he said.
Oleksiy Danilov expressed his belief that Ukraine is now deciding how "the world will look like in the near future." "Either it will act in accordance with international rules that are binding on everyone, or it will plunge into chaos," he emphasized, adding that now it depends on "your countries, your help and understanding of these processes, where the world will move."
In this context, he emphasized that russia is actually the first country that "officially withdrew from international law and does not believe that it should be observed." "This is a precedent in the history of mankind, which they consciously set," he said. - "putin wants to destroy us as a people, as a nation, to go to the border of Europe together with his henchmen and establish his own rules that have nothing to do with international law.
"Until we remove this cancerous tumor from the body of civilization, keep in mind that it will continue to grow," Oleksiy Danilov added.
Speaking about the 10 points of the President's Peace Formula, the NSDC Secretary expressed gratitude to "all the countries that are involved in this" and noted that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "sincerely wants us to prove to the whole world that good must prevail".
