Oleksiy Danilov: NATO membership is a guarantee of Ukraine's development

Ukraine's membership in NATO is a guarantee of security, peaceful life and development of our country. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov during a national telethon on ICTV on Monday, July 10, 2023.

"Ukraine's membership in NATO is a provision of the Constitution, and we will do everything in our power to become a member of the Alliance as soon as possible," he said. - "Until this happens, the security of our country will be in question".

The NSDC Secretary emphasized the "tremendous preparatory work" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ahead of the NATO Summit to be held in Vilnius on July 11-12, and expressed confidence that Ukraine will become NATO's 33rd member, adding that "it is only a matter of time."

He also emphasized that Ukrainian society is mature and eager for Ukraine's accession to NATO, as it realizes that membership in the Alliance is a matter of security.

"We will not deviate from the path to NATO membership," said Oleksiy Danilov, emphasizing that this path is paved with blood, which was given for the future of our country.

Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine expressed his misunderstanding of the position of some countries that fear Ukraine's accession to the Alliance, arguing that they are unwilling to conflict with russia, which has nuclear weapons.
