Specialists of the the NSDC Staff took part in the conference on the resilience of communications and the Internet during the war

On May 26, 2023, Volodymyr Zverev, Deputy Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service - Head of the Information Security Department of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the Staff of the NSDC of Ukraine, took part in the conference "Ukraine: Resilience of Communications and the Internet in Time of War".

The participants of the event discussed the issues of ensuring communication in times of war, interaction between stakeholders and the need to restore telecommunications infrastructure.

During the discussion "How the state protected communications: infrastructure, government decisions, stakeholder coordination", the participants discussed the responses of government agencies to the challenges posed by russia's full-scale invasion, including decisions to protect critical infrastructure, their timely adoption, as well as communication and coordination with other stakeholders.

"Thanks to the effective interaction and timely decision-making of the National Security and Defense Council and the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center, our country has not only survived, but also gained an advantage in the information and cyber space. The state, critical infrastructure, and business acted as a united front, and this was the key and decisive factor in our struggle," Volodymyr Zverev said.

The conference was attended by representatives of the government, Ukrainian Internet service providers (ISPs), telecommunications companies and civil society. The participants discussed:

The conference was organized by NGO Internews Ukraine and the Canadian technology organization eQualitie with the support of Global Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (GAC), the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.
