Oleksiy Danilov: there will be no moscow church in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

There will be no moscow church in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov on the air of "Radio NV" on Tuesday, March 28 of this year.

He reminded that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is a museum complex that belongs to the state, so all issues concerning it will be decided by the state itself, "and not some individual people who for some reason think that they will decide in what way our laws will be flouted." "We will not allow this to anyone," Oleksiy Danilov said.

On March 29, 2023, the contract with the orthodox church of the moscow patriarchate on the free use of religious buildings and other property on the territory of the Lavra Reserve will be terminated.

Answering the question of what events may take place on this day, the NSDC Secretary noted that "no one is going to pull anyone by the legs, there will be no cleaning by force, everything will be done in accordance with the law."

According to him, churches on the territory of the Lavra will work, services will be held, but "artificial entities, which at one time were created outside the laws of Ukraine", will not take part in this.

Oleksiy Danilov recalled that the hierarchs of the church of the moscow patriarchate declared that they had nothing to do with moscow, and at the same time, "moscow cassock kirill gundyaev told us how to live here." According to him, the fact that the issue of the moscow church was not "put an end to" in 1991 was a huge mistake, because the representatives of the top management of this church and many churchmen "were not related to God, but to the fsb."

"We cannot follow their lead and not understand that this is a huge danger for our country. We will solve the issues in a legal way, but they will not be in the Lavra, - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine said. - The laws of Ukraine will be respected by everyone without exception, all laws will be implemented."
