With the assistance of the NCSCC, a training on the use of OSINT tools was held for representatives of the security and defense sector

On February 10, 2023, a training was held for representatives of the security and defense sector on the use of OSINT tools in the interests of law enforcement, national security and defense.

Employees of the National Police of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as cadets of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine took part in the event, which was held with the assistance of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the NSDC of Ukraine and the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine.

A training course for security and defense sector bodies on the implementation of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools in the public sector was organized by the Institute of the Post-Information Society at the end of last year with the assistance of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the NSDC of Ukraine and the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine.

"Cooperation with the private sector and leading educational institutions of Ukraine is one of the priorities of the NCCC in the field of building the potential of the state's national cyber security system. We constantly conduct training courses to improve the qualifications of public sector workers, and we are grateful to everyone who helps us in this," Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the Staff of NSDC of Ukraine, the NCSCC Secretary Natalia Tkachuk said.

According to Dmytro Zolotukhin, the founder of the Post-Information Society Institute, "sooner or later, most crimes will move to the Internet." "Already now it is necessary to develop a mechanism for using information obtained from open sources as a real evidence base for bringing perpetrators to justice," he noted.

OSINT - intelligence based on open sources - has become an important component of countering the russian enemy. Thanks to it, specialists discover the location of military formations and equipment, learn the personal data of criminals, study existing threats, exert psychological and informational influence on the enemy, etc.
