Oleksiy Danilov: Any negotiations with russia on its terms are impossible

Any negotiations with russia on its terms are impossible either in bilateral or multilateral formats.

This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, on Thursday, January 26, during a meeting with the delegation of the US Foreign Policy Council (AFPC) led by AFPC President Herman Pirchner.

"You can negotiate only with those who want it, and the russian federation demands negotiations exclusively on its own terms," he said.

Oleksiy Danilov recalled the peace formula voiced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi: negotiations with a terrorist country are possible only in the case of the withdrawal of its troops from the entire territory of our country, payment of reparations, punishment for the crimes committed and guarantees to Ukraine that the aggression will never be repeated.

In addition, the NSDC Secretary stressed that as long as the russian federation remains within its current colonial borders, it will constantly try to take aggressive actions against other countries. "They constantly need an external enemy, because if there is none, they will have to solve internal problems," he said. - If it is fragmented to what can be called russia proper, then some positive moments are possible."

Ukrainian society, said Oleksiy Danilov, will never accept the fact that the territory can be given to russia, that we can lose our freedom and independence.

At the same time, Oleksiy Danilov emphasized the importance of jointly defining with partners the vision of what the russian federation will be after the victory of Ukraine. According to him, the process of the collapse of the russian federation must be controlled, otherwise the world may face new, unexpected challenges.

According to Oleksiy Danilov, today the russian federation is "preparing for the last push to change the situation in its favor", to interrupt the arms supply chain, and to try to carry out a second attack on Kyiv.

At the same time, he noted, russians are "losing their capabilities every day" and "on their own", without outside help, it will be extremely difficult for them to achieve their goals.

The NSDC Secretary emphasized that "our victory together with our partners is a matter of time." He also recalled that until February 24 of last year, few of the partners believed that Ukraine was capable of standing. "We have broken this trend," he said.

The NSDC Secretary thanked the partners for the latest decisions on the provision of heavy armored vehicles, noting that this became possible primarily thanks to the efforts of the President of Ukraine, and informed that Ukraine now needs F-16 aircraft and weapons capable of hitting targets at a distance of 250-300 km.
