Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov stated this in his welcoming speech at a two-day international round table meeting on the topic "Countering disinformation in wartime conditions", which is taking place in Kyiv at the initiative of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC of Ukraine.

"Today, our country is in a state of hot war with the russian federation. This is a war on the information front as well, and I am grateful to everyone who works on it", - Mr. Danilov said.

The NSDC Secretary emphasized that freedom of speech and democracy are identical concepts, noticing that totalitarian regimes - such as the russian federation - do not recognize the norms and rules of the civilized world.

"We understood in advance that there would be a war, that's why in March 2021, the Center for Countering Disinformation was established by Presidential Decree - Mr. Danilov said. - The information front is as important and complex as the frontline on the territory of Donetsk, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia regions".
