Possibilities of intensifying Ukraine’s relations with the European Union in the field of cybersecurity discussed at the NCSCC

Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the Staff of NSDC of Ukraine Natalia Tkachuk met with representatives of European institutions responsible for the implementation of EU cybersecurity policy. The meeting took place at the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center.

Tanel Tang, Team Leader, Policy and Reform Coordination Team, Ene Visnev, Policy Officer at the European External Action Service, Anna Brzozowska, a member of the Support Group for Ukraine in the EU, and Jyrki Litmanen, a representative of the Policy Office at the EU Delegation in Ukraine participated in the meeting.

The parties discussed possibilities of intensifying Ukraine’s relations with the European Union in the field of cybersecurity and countering cyber threats at the institutional level. In particular, the parties agreed provisionally to organize the second round of the Ukraine-EU cyber dialogue in April this year.

The meeting also covered the exchange of experience in combating cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, conducting training on preparing and retraining civil servants, the possibility of EU sanctions by partner countries for cyberattacks against Ukraine, establishing contacts between the NCSCC and EU agencies and institutions responsible for cybersecurity, etc.

Ms. Tkachuk acquainted the members of the delegation with the peculiarities of the NCSCC and told them about the implementation of the Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine, coordinated by the NCSCC.
