A meeting with representative of the NATO International Staff Marcin Kozhiel took place at the NSDC Staff

Experts of the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine met with the NATO delegation led by Marcin Kozhiel, Head of the Department for Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine of the Operations Division of the NATO International Staff.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of monitoring the implementation of the National Security Strategy of Ukraine and the state developing strategic planning documents in the field of national security and defense, which will determine the ways and tools to implement the Strategy.

The parties also paid special attention to the state of security and defense sector reform under the Annual National Program under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission for 2021 and the activities of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Working Group on Defense Reform.

In his turn, Mr. Kozhiel noted that Ukraine’s pace and progress in developing agency-level strategic documents “are impressive”. He also assured of the Allies’ readiness to provide all possible assistance in the process of implementing these documents and stressed the urgency of the relevant revision of the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine. Mr. Kozhiel also stressed the importance of resuming high-level consultations within the NATO-Ukraine Joint Working Group on Defense Reform.
