Ilko Kucheriv “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation presented to the NSDC Staff the results of the study of national security risks
Scientific Director of the Ilko Kucheriv “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation Oleksiy Haran and political analysts at the Foundation Petro Burkovsky and Serhiy Shapovalov presented the results of the sociological monitoring of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on Ukrainian society (2020-2021) to the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The results of two representative regional surveys conducted in July 2021 in the Odesa and Kharkiv regions were also presented. The survey aimed to study public opinion on socio-political trends in these regions.
Among the issues studied were citizens’ perceptions of threats to themselves and the country as a whole, assessment of the effects of the pandemic, vulnerability to Russian influence, factors influencing social tensions in the region, and the structure of media consumption.
During the study, experts drew attention to factors that may affect the state's ability to ensure national security, internal stability and effectiveness in countering external threats. The conclusions of the study may be useful in developing measures to protect the national interests and national security of Ukraine.
At the end of the meeting, the Foundation’s representatives provided their conclusions and recommendations on measures to respond to critical indicators that may affect the security situation in the country.
