At the NSDC’s initiative, an audit of military-technical cooperation with foreign countries will be conducted in Ukraine for the first time

At the initiative of the National Security and Defense Council, an audit of military-technical cooperation with foreign countries will be conducted in Ukraine for the first time.

On June 18, 2021, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine adopted the decision “On the Strategy for the Development of the Defense-Industrial Complex of Ukraine” put into effect by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of August 20, 2021, № 372.

In order to improve Ukraine’s position on the world arms market and strengthen the state’s potential in military-technical cooperation, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was instructed to ensure a three-year review of Ukraine’s military-technical cooperation with foreign countries within six months.

The review will include the analysis of:

features and trends of development of the world market of arms, military and special equipment;

the effectiveness of Ukraine’s military-technical cooperation with foreign countries, as well as the factors affecting this cooperation;

financial indicators of arms and military equipment exports to foreign countries, the results of activities of public agencies, enterprises, institutions and organizations of industry and science, as well as the security and defense sector’s provision;

potential and perspective directions for developing Ukraine’s military-technical cooperation with foreign states.

Based on the review, the Strategy of Military-Technical Cooperation of Ukraine for the next 5 years will be developed and submitted to the NSDC of Ukraine.

Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Serhiy Demedyuk signed a letter to the Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, which is the main body responsible for the above task, with suggestions to develop a review procedure and submit it to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The NSDC Staff must be informed on a monthly basis about the results of the work carried out.
