Students of the senior strategic level management course (L-4) of the NDU of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovsky got acquainted with the NCCC’s capabilities
More than 30 students of the senior strategic level management course (L-4) of the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovsky got acquainted with the technical capabilities of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The meeting was held at the technical platform of the NCCC by Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the Staff of NSDC of Ukraine Natalia Tkachuk.
During the meeting, the importance of the NCCC’s coordinating role and place in Ukraine’s national cybersecurity system was discussed. The technical capabilities of the NCCC, which are used by specialists to quickly detect and analyze cyber incidents, were demonstrated to the military servicemen.
Cybersecurity issues were also considered. Ms. Tkachuk stressed the need to increase the level of cyber protection of information systems of the Armed Forces and digital literacy of servicemen. “The information and telecommunication systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remain one of the primary targets of cyberattacks by hacker groups controlled by the aggressor country, so the issues of their cyber protection are vital”, - the Head of the Service noticed.
The NCCC specialists informed the students about the technical component, details of the architecture, and components to identify signs of cyberattacks and coordinate measures for their further localization. It was emphasized that one of the important factors in making effective and prompt decisions is the mutual exchange of information with the main cybersecurity subjects of Ukraine and private enterprises connected to the platform of automated exchange of MISP indicators of the NCCC.
An exchange of views took place on promising areas for strengthening the state’s cyber defense and the importance of the cybersecurity component in the national security system. International cooperation with partner countries in the exchange of information and experience was also discussed.
